Opera Fantasia Fabric by the meter

The Opera Fantasia pattern is Emma von Brömssen's contribution to the Gothenburg Opera's 30th-anniversary collection.

The fish dance, the swans sing, and the river's waters play. Together with Gothenburg’s lions, they all play various roles in an ongoing spectacle – a flowing history of performing arts. The graphic intermediate pattern is inspired by East Asian porcelain that has been transported across the world’s oceans to this very place for centuries. The colours are drawn from the opera house’s palette, the sky-blue façade, and the warm terracotta of the interior.

The fabric is printed in collaboration with Frösö Handtryck, one of the two remaining hand-printing studios in Sweden, on beautiful Belgian linen. The cushions are made from the fabric by the metre, so each one is unique and may not look exactly like the cushion in the picture.

The trays and napkins are also produced in Sweden.
